Native Mobile Apps

Native Mobile Apps refer to apps which can be downloaded and installed from an app store, with the two big players being Google's Play store for Android Devices and Apple's App Store for iPhones. 

Native apps are entirely customisable and have full access to a user's device and can leverage features such as the camera and GPS, plus interact with users with notifications so you can gently remind them that you exist and of your latest and greatest offers and service. 

It is important to note however, native apps need a 'back-end' API to get their data, which generally makes developing mobile apps quite a large undertaking. 

Progressive Web Apps (PWA)

If you are tempted by the idea of a mobile app, this is an excellent place to start. Progressive Web Apps are essentially a website, with some added bits of code which can make them behave as native apps on mobile devices. 

You have probably been to a website and had a pop-up come up asking to allow notification, or your location, those sites are examples of a Progressive Web App

Users can 'Install' your Progressive Web App, although they do it via the browser instead of an App Store and still allow quick and easy access to your products and service. They also can access several devices' features (subject to the device owner's permission) including camera, GPS and push notifications.
